Creed vs Drago pt. II, was the heavily anticipated rematch for the heavyweight championship of the world between Current Heavyweight champion Adonis Creed and #1 contender in the world Viktor Drago. 33 years ago in the fourth movie, both their fathers fought in an exhibition match during the Cold War. The bout resulted in Apollo's death. After Drago was disqualified in the last bout, both boxers went through extensive training for the inevitable rematch. The fight was more equal this time around and resulted in Creed winning the fight after Ivan threw in the towel for his son's well being. The fight was seen as Adonis finally defend the Creed name against the Dragos. This was also the last time that Rocky Balboa would be Adonis's trainer and manager.
Background[]

Viktor taunts Adonis to come fight him
While Adonis technically won the first fight, his body and ego was shattered. Moreover, he is able to reconcile with his former mentor Rocky Balboa. While Viktor taunts Donnie publicly, he faces constant pressure from his father behind the scenes, who enjoys the attention of the media and various Russian delegates. At a state dinner, he and Ivan encounter Ludmilla, his mother and Ivan's ex-wife, for the first time in several years after she abandoned them following Ivan's loss to Rocky for 33 years.

Adonis trains for the upcoming rematch
Adonis comes to terms with the fact that he needs to be more open with the people closest to him. He also comes to terms that he has to fight Viktor again, and win. Rocky and Little Duke take Adonis to the desert to rigorously train his body from within to prepare for the fight, while Mary Anne, Bianca, and Amara provide a stable support system. In the desert, Balboa and Little Duke prepare Adonis's body to be able to take extreme amounts of force and damage, preparing him for Viktor's powerful and deadly strikes. At first Adonis is overwhelmed by the training. During his training he would facetime Bianca and Amara which help motivate him to train harder. During one of the training, Adonis collapsed due to exhaustion but was able to overcome these stress and get back up. As days go by, Adonis gets a significant progress and is able to beat one of the training opponents
Meanwhile in Russia, Viktor trains in a cold gym by his father while many reporters watch. Ivan pushes Viktor to his limit in training for the bout.
The Fight[]

Adonis lands a right jab across Viktor's face
In the rematch, it is more balanced as a more controlled and focused Donnie exchanges equal blows with Viktor. Viktor is used to winning by knockout, as his bouts have never lasted past four rounds; Donnie used this to his advantage and willingly endured a heavy beating from Viktor, even after his ribs were broken. Adonis is more accustomed to Viktor Drago by fighting more comfortably in close range, and due to his sessions training to his body to absorb substantial impact repeatedly, he is able to withstand Viktor's deadly strikes. While Viktor is winning on points, Adonis uses his stamina to his advantage later in the fight.

Adonis Creed knocks down Viktor Drago
In the tenth round, Donnie unleashes sequences of effective blows on Drago. Most of the audience were surprised by what they were seeing. The fight went on more than the previous. After a knockdown in the 10th round, Adonis unleashes a furious rage on a now exhausted Viktor, knocking him down twice. As Ludmilla and the rest of the Russian state members leave in disgust, Viktor sees his mother abandoning him again. This, along with Adonis many blows, caused Viktor to lose the will to fight. Creed continues to unleash a full on assault on Drago and it seems like history is about to repeat itself again (only the roles are reversed). Seeing this, a distraught Ivan throws in the towel to spare Viktor's life. This led to Adonis winning the match and retaining his title for the second time, however this time it felt like Donnie actually earned it along with the respect of the Russian crowd.

Ivan throws in the towel to save his son's life
As the fight is over, the Russian audience including Buddy Marcelle, applaud both fighters for giving it their all. While Adonis celebrated with his family and Rocky, Ivan consoled his son, telling him it's ok that he lost as he is still proud of him. At the end of the fight, Rocky tells Adonis that this is his journey now, hugging him, and giving his farewell.
Aftermath[]

Adonis has a heartfelt conversation with Viktor
After the fight, Adonis would meet a recovering Viktor in the locker room and would have a one-on-one conversation with him before leaving him and Ivan to join Rocky. Having retained the title, Adonis visited Apollo's grave with Bianca Taylor and Amara Creed, where he makes peace with his dad for carrying on his legacy while also building his own. Rocky finally decided to visit his son in Vancouver while Ivan begins to train Viktor more personally. Later on Adonis and Viktor become acquainted with each other and Viktor would later become a celebrity boxer himself over the years. The fight is considered by many as closure to the once devastating bout back in 1985.
