John Barkley (born 1966) was a Canadian professional boxer who competed during the 1980s until an unknown time. He competed in the Heavyweight Division. He is a playable character in Rocky Legends.
In the 1990s, during Rocky V, Barkley was knocked out by the rising prospect of Tommy Gunn.

John Barkley (born March 1, 1966) was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. He competed in the Heavyweight Division for several years but was never able to capture the Heavyweight Championship. It is unknown what Barkley's professional record was.
During his prime, Barkley was regarded as a unique fighter that revolutionized defense, Barkley introduced an awkward defensive fight style that had never been seen before, he used this style to frustrate many opponents. On the offensive end, Barkley was known to hit and move with great pace, making it difficult for his opponents to land a shot on him.[1]
In November 2025 Barkley was diagnosed with stage IV prostate cancer.
