The MGM Grand is a well known and glamorous casino and hotel which which is located in suburban Las Vegas, in nearby Paradise, Nevada. Owned by MGM Resorts International, the arena structured inside, The MGM Grand Arena, which has a seating capacity of 16,800 people, also has an area where at times, a boxing ring is structured inside for both amateur and professional boxing title bouts; it is located at 3799 Las Vegas Boulevard South. It was the site of the fateful, well publicized exhibition boxing match between Soviet amateur boxing champion Ivan Drago and the America's former champion Apollo Creed,
It should be noted that there were actually two MGM Grand Hotel/Casinos in las Vegas; the one seen in Creed II is not the same one that was previously seen in Rocky IV. The original MGM Grand was located at the property in Vegas that is now the Bally's Hotel and Casino, while the rebuilt MGM Grand (seen in Creed II) opened in 1993, with its venue, the Grand Garden Arena, having played host to many events (martial arts matches, concerts, etc.) over the years.
