Robert Chartoff was a co-producer of all of the films of the Rocky film francise; he and fellow producer Irwin Winkler won an Academy Award for Best Picture for the 1976 film Rocky.

Chartoff graduated from Union College in 1955. Married to actress Vanessa Howard from 1970 until their divorce in 2010, they have three grown daughters (Jennifer, Julie, and Miranda) and two grown-up sons (William and Charley).[1] Chartoff established the RC Charitable Foundation in 1990 to award grants to international schools and other child agencies. He continues to serve as its President. The RC Charitable Foundation gives less than $100,000 per year. Several grants awarded to the Buddha Educational Trust.
