Sam Monroe (born 1949) is an American former professional boxer who competed during the 1970s until an unknown time. He competed in the Heavyweight Division. He is a playable character in Rocky Legends.

Sam Monroe (born 1949) was born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio. He competed in the Heavyweight Division for several years but was never able to capture the Heavyweight Championship. It is unknown what Monroe's professional record was.
During his prime, Monroe was described as a compact, powerful fighter who liked to get in close when in the ring. Monroe was considered to be slightly sloppy when it came to his training but his natural ability more than made up for his lack of self-discipline. Monroe could take a punch and preferred taking a few if it meant he could get inside and close to his opponent.[1]
